Today I become the proud mom of a teenager.
*GULP*
I have enjoyed watching her grow into one. I just can't believe she's 13 years old now. Yesterday was an example of how grown up she really is. We went out for the afternoon and she said to us "Can we please be home at a decent time so I can get my homework done?" Sure she waited until Sunday to do it all but I thought it showed maturity and responsibility. She's amazing, no doubt about that.
We got her an IPOD nano w/ a different metal case and an ITUNES giftcard. She's going to be ecstatic! She's been wanting one since before Christmas. We always wait to get the more "special" gifts for her birthday. Birthdays are more special than Christmas in our little family unit :).
I used to focus on my "attempt" to photography a lot more but with so many other things on the go I lost my focus. Now that we got a new camera and it's so much smaller that I can take it with me in my big ol' purse I think I can spend a little more time taking photos!
Here are a couple of the first photos taken with my new camera. Guess the object ;)
..and for fun I will add the last couple of photos from the other camera.
We got so much snow today! There is like 2 feet of snow out there and that happened in less than a 24 hour period of time! Insane.
It took us 1.5 hours to drive home from picking Ashley up at school (normally a 15 min drive). We had to park our car at the bottom of the hill near our street and walk the rest of the way.
Here is a video of when we left to pick Ashley up from school. Look a the size of those flakes!!
I think the power is going to go out again today.
The winds are insane today! The power has been flickering a bit today.
I think I'll take my laptop off electric power now.
This weather is truly bizarre.
Here is a video and photo of our visitor that slept in the garage last night. He was so happy to see us this morning. He still scares the crap out of me because I'm not sure how he was raised. He certainly seems docile but ya never know if they have that "mean streak" he might have been taught. Better safe than sorry.
Just look at that smile!!
So we pull into our driveway open the garage door and make our way to the door. I turn around and scream AHHHHHHH! To be face on with a freakin' rottweiler! That thing came out of nowhere and it's HUGE! I'm kinda scared of big dogs and Will not knowing whether its going to bite one of us opened the door quickly and tried to lure it out of the garage. He was unsuccessful. But he is man's best friend! This dog hopped and jumped on Will like he was its owner! But I was still leery because of the bad rap that rottweilers got.
Will closes the garage after looking to see if someone on our street owns him and there was no one. I walk into the kitchen and see this huge animal look at me through our patio window in the backyard and once again I screamed. I wasn't expecting it to get from the front to the back at all haha. I thought for sure it would have run off.
Anyway, he's sleeping in our garage tonight because we called the SPCA and they are dealing with a few RCMP related issues and not sure if they will make it in tonight but they told us it was okay to keep him in our garage and they will send someone out ASAP first thing in the morning.
I feel so bad for the big guy though. He stood in our window crying and whining. Will fed him and I think he ate more than Roxy has in the last month! He's very hungry and thirsty right now. I feel so bad for him :(.
My post op appointment went well and my shopping trip was long, but successful. Will tell more tomorrow.
Maybe I can get a photo of the big fella. When someone looks at him it looks like he's smiling at us! His tongue is out and his mouth is as wide as his head. He's a cutie all right!
One thing that pisses me off. Why didin't his owner put a collar on him? or tattoo his ear? He looks like he's well taken care of except for this very small but HUGE thing.
